In this picturesque town, a modern country homestead provides a tranquil haven for its 20 permanent residents and 1 respite guest.

Surrounded by well-established gardens and outdoor spaces featuring a gazebo and courtyard water feature, the homestead offers a serene and natural environment. The living and entertainment areas, easily accessible, feature a spacious dining room serving home-cooked meals. The facility, connected to the new Henty Hospital, delivers 24-hour care by highly trained staff, supported by an active local community contributing to planned social, entertainment, and activity programs. Laundry services, local newspapers, and full-time professional care complete the comprehensive offerings.

The Position

We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join this facility, dedicated to delivering high-quality service and care. Our client’s philosophy of care is that every person has the right to live in peace and dignity, with respect and security, irrespective of age.

The Registered Nurse will support, act, and coordinate the provision of high-quality, comprehensive, evidence-based, resident-focused care that meets the needs of the resident. The role assists the residents to lead an active and meaningful life as independently as possible. Act as a role model and resource to other staff. This role reports to the Facility Manager and undertakes specific projects on behalf of FM or Clinical Manager/ Nurse Supervisor/ Consultant and other duties as assigned to meet the objectives and functions of the client.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support and advice to the Residential Aged Care Team as required.
  • Use resources and equipment effectively and economically for authorised purposes only.
  • Carry out complex clinical assessments and ensure that the clinical care needs of clients are identified.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service to clients, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Attend and/or facilitate Case Conferences and client discussion meetings as required.
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with other service providers, medical professionals and health professionals as required.
  • Adhere to the Aged Care Code of Conduct, Charter of Care Recipients’ Rights and Responsibilities – Residential Aged Care, the DVA Service Charter and Rights and Responsibilities of Entitled Persons and the NDIS Code of Conduct

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 12 months experience post-registration qualification.
  • Current Driving Licence.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office Professional Suite (all applications)
  • Excellent Customer Service.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Active Listening Skills.
  • Good Written and Communication Skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work according to strict guidelines and an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving and conflictmanagement skills.
  • Time, Task and Priority Management Skills
